Daniel S. Goldberg serves on Marchant's Board of Advisers and is instrumental in providing insights that helps reinforce much of Marchant's credit and debt strategies. Further, he advises the firm on leverage utilization.
Mr. Goldberg spent most of his career specializing in convertible bond arbitrage. From 1992-1994 he was awarded The Institutional Investor All-American First Team for his work in convertible debt. He has worked at several Wall Street firms, including Goldman Sachs and Salomon Brothers.
Mr. Goldberg also founded Velo Capital Management, a credit-based hedge fund that he ran until its acquisition by Palisade Capital Management, a diversified asset management firm with over $3.5bn under management. The acquisition was made to bolster Palisade's convertible bond strategy, making Mr. Goldberg the portfolio manager of the $400MM long convertible fund.
After thirty years in finance and proprietary trading, he retired from Wall Street and founded Vital Care Partners, an elder care and special needs outfit. In recent years, Mr. Goldberg has been a TV contributor to both NBC and CBS News for his expertise on tax and fraud prevention.
